Story
Dr. Shanti Kumar Sogani stands as one of India’s most respected and accomplished neurosurgeons, with over four decades of distinguished service in medicine, medical education and social outreach. Born in 1951, he has spent a lifetime blending clinical and social service to society, transforming lives through both neurosurgery and social service.
After earning his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Gajra Raja Medical College, Gwalior, he did super-specialization in Neurosurgery (M.Ch.) at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi (1981-84). He has served as Senior Consultant, Neurosurgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi from 1984 to 1999, and since 1999, for over 25 years, he has been associated with Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, he heads a leading neurosurgical unit, performing intricate surgeries involving Brain & Spine Tumours, Aneurysms, Skull Base Operations and Neurotrauma.
He has has also trained numerous postgraduate and super-specialty students in neurosurgical techniques, leaving a lasting academic legacy. His profound professional achievements are powerfully underscored by his unwavering commitment to humanitarian service.
As a Life Member of Mahavir International Delhi (MID) for the last 27 Years, he is the Guiding Force and Chief Medical Advisor Of MID, he has spearheaded initiatives delivering free, high-quality healthcare to over 59 lac underprivileged individuals. MID in Gujarat has extended its community welfare and healthcare initiatives to the state of Gujarat, reaching out to the needy sections of society.
His contribution to the field of medicine and to the society has been acknowledged a numerous times. In his over 40 years of practice as a neurosurgeon he has been awarded with numerous awards, to name a few with the Jan Seva Award in 2025 for Outstanding Medical Services, PRIDE OF INDIA-GOLD Award in 1992. His community service has also been recognized with such awards as Jain Gaurav Award in 1991, 1999, utkrast Samaj Sevi Award, Samaj Seva Pratibha Samman, and many others. He has delivered over 200 lectures, chaired a number of Conferences, participated and attended over a dozen workshops and conferences. He was also a medical Director and Advisor with a number of Social Services providing NGO such as Mahavir International, Siddhomal Charitable Trust, Kund Kund Bharati Trust, Om Kothari Foundation and Trust.
In the year 2002, he realized the scope and need for the country's advancement in the field of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, and estabilished what today is among the country's fastest growing diagnostic chains, by the name of House Of Diagnostics (HOD).
